Seljestad has a magnificent hiking-area. The nature here in these mountains is untouched and stunningly beautiful. The plains are large, open and peaceful. A hike to Seljestadstølen, the mountain Kistefjell or the lakes Steinavatnet and Fjørdalsvatnet are just a few of the many hiking-possibilities this area has to offer.
During the winter we usually have a lot of snow. Seljestad is known for being one of the most snow secure areas in Norway. This place, with its countless of groomed skiing trails, is a skiing eldorado for cross-country skiers. Seljestad also has two lighted trails, which makes it possible to ski during the evening.

In the summertime the hiking possibilities are endless. We have many marked trails, but it can be wise to have a map at hand. Maps can be bought from us in our kiosk.
There are also possibilities for bathing in lakes such as Lontjønn and Torekoven. During the summer months the sun rises early and goes down late. On hot days it can be refreshing to take a swim in the nearest lake. For those who like fishing we can recommend waters like Løyningsvatnet, Nyastølsvatnet and Røldalsvatnet. Fishing permits can be purchased in our kiosk.
In the autumn, in the end of August, the season for berries starts. Our forests have a lot of blueberries and mountain cranberries. If you are out in good time, you can also come across cloudberries, and mushrooms like chantarelles.
